ENTRY ACCEPTANCE RULES:
HOW MANY: 2 bottles are required per entry. Single-bottle entries will be judged, but will not be eligible for Best-of-Show judging. Please DO NOT send extra bottles as we have limited space.
WHAT TYPE: All bottle types from 10-22 oz are accepted. Brown 12oz bottles are preferred. They can be crowned, flip-top or corked. All bottles should be free from labels or stickers associated with commercial breweries or other personal labeling. There should be no other labels or graphics of any kind on the bottle. The bottle caps, corks or crowns should also be free from lettering or graphics. Please obliterate any of these with black permanent marker. Entries may be disqualified if these rules are not adhered to.
LABELS & FEES: You cannot print bottle labels until entry fees are paid. In order to handle the large number of entries expected, we are ONLY accepting PayPal for entry fees. After payment on the PayPal site, be certain to click the ’return to competition site’ link to ensure that your OSHC account is updated and your entries are marked ’paid’. If NOT, please contact us for help.
Each entry bottle requires a bottle label ID attached to the bottle with a rubber band. DO NOT use tape, adhesives, or any other means to attach your entry label. Entries may be disqualified if it is too difficult to remove the label.
PACKAGING AND SHIPPING: If you are shipping your entries please be careful to pack them properly to prevent breakage during shipment. Please avoid styrofoam packing peanuts, or other loose packing materials, as they are very messy and do not adequately prevent breakage, as bottles will shift and sink within the container. It is also advisable to place any forms or paperwork in zip-lock bags so if there is breakage the forms don’t get ruined and we can identify who’s entry it is. DO NOT use the USPS, it is illegal to ship alcoholic beverages through the USPS. Please use private carriers such as FedEx or UPS. Please refer to the following excellent articles for great advice for ensuring that your bottles arrive to the competition safely.
In the event of any bottles that arrive broken, we will make every attempt to contact the entrant in time to send a replacement, if you wish. Please be sure that your contact information is up to date.
TEMPERATURE NOTE: Entries may be stored at either room temperature, cellar temperature, or in refrigeration at each drop-off location, based upon their policies and available space. If you NEED to have your bottles kept at room temp for conditioning, please MARK the box/packaging clearly to that effect. We will do what we can to accommodate these requests. ALL entries will be adequately chilled and handled minimally just prior to judging.
Entry bottles accepted at our drop-off locations from Saturday, February 3, 2018 12:00 AM, EST through Saturday, March 3, 2018 11:59 PM, EST.

Ship entries to:
Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Please do not over pack!
Write clearly: Fragile. This Side Up. on the package. Please only use bubble wrap as your packing material.
Enclose each of your bottle labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching to their respective bottles. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which entry has broken if there is damage during shipment.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.
If you live in the United States, please note that it is illegal to ship your entries via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Private shipping companies have the right to refuse your shipment if they are informed that the package contains glass and/or alcoholic beverages. Be aware that entries mailed internationally are often required by customs to have proper documentation. These entries might be opened and/or returned to the shipper by customs officials at their discretion. It is solely your responsibility to follow all applicable laws and regulations.
Competition judging dates are yet to be determined. Please check back later.
